Entertainment Studios Nabs Sarah Hyland-Starring Rom-Com ‘The Wedding Year’

Byron Allen plans a fall 2019 release for the Lakeshore Entertainment pic, which also stars Tyler James Williams.

Byron Allen’s Entertainment Studios has picked up the U.S. rights to the romantic comedy The Wedding Year, led by Modern Family star Sarah Hyland and Tyler James Williams.

A fall 2019 U.S. theatrical release is planned for the Lakeshore Entertainment production. Legally Blonde director Robert Luketic helmed the feature, which centers on a marriage-resistant Los Angeles photographer (Hyland) who is invited to 15 weddings in the same year with her new ready-to-settle-down boyfriend.

“(The Wedding Year) is a very funny movie that speaks to the present generation’s struggle to figure out and find love,” Allen, chairman and CEO of Entertainment Studios, said in a statement.

The ensemble cast includes Keith David, Patrick Warburton, Tom Connolly, Grace Helbig, Wanda Sykes and Jenna Dewan.

Lakeshore’s Gary Lucchesi, Marc Reid and Mark Korshak share the producer credits. Hyland executive produced along with Allen, Carolyn Folks and Jennifer Lucas.
